Announcementsof Interest to the Composites CommunityNew Training Facility ‘Sets The Standard’ Dark Matter Composites has recently invested in larger premises with facilities that ‘set the standard’ for providing training courses for the composites industry. Through years of experience, facilities have been refined to support a wide range of courses for all industry sectors and skill levels. The new facility boasts two dedicated training rooms, reception and preparation rooms supported by a range of dedicated tooling and process equipment. Courses benefit in terms of quality and consistency by having enough tooling and equipment available so that delegates work individually and occasionally in pairs. This maximises the learning outcomes. Dark Matter Composites have always had 100% positive feedback on all course provision to date. ‘Our customers often require courses delivered at their sites both in the UK and overseas. This had led to much of our tooling and equipment being designed to be portable as well as support our wide range of courses. Investment has included a compressed air/electrical/vacuum ring main services installed for every bench, a transportable autoclave and redesign of our in-house bench extraction units. Some has been supplied free of charge, such as a our Vacmobiles unit and our new extraction units work so well, we will be selling these as a packaged extraction solution in the near future.’ Rodney Hansen, Managing Director. Even in the current economic climate, there is an increasing demand for training from hands-on technicians through to engineers, designers and management. Dark Matter Composites investment will support this growing market sector, as well as providing training solutions which are expanding to ‘train the trainer’ programmes and installation of training facilities at Customer sites. Dark Matter Composites Customers range from individuals and small companies through to tier one suppliers and OEM’s. The courses are approved by Composites UK and members are entitled to a 5% discount on standard courses. The 2010 course schedule is now available on the company website www.darkmattercomposites.co.uk
