Adding a Material to the Material Data Bases

Please send Mike@CompositesConsultants.com an email to request the inclusion of a material in the material data bases. These data bases are used by the On-line Tools. Include the following information about the material (materials are fibers in roving form, fabrics - woven and non-woven, resins and resin additives & curing agents):

• Name (Example: EPON 828)
• Manufacturer (Example: Lindau Chemicals, Inc. include main address, contact person, phone, fax, email and web site if known)
• Class of material (Example: Carbon Fiber)
• Description (Example: General purpose, moderate viscosity, Bisphenol A epoxy resin. A base resin used for its balance of handling characteristics and performance properties)
• An URL for the product data sheet (If known - Example: www.axelplastics.com/pulprods.html )
• Compatible resins (For resin additives/curing agents- Example: Polyester)
• Density (For all materials in g/cc - Example: 1.04)
• TEX value (For fibers in g/km - Example: 600)
• Areal weight (For fabrics in g/sq cm - Example: 0.09)
• Current Market Price (in dollars per kg)

The information will be promptly added to the data base.

Adding a Predefined Resin Formula to the Resin Calculator

To add a predefined resin formula to the Resin Calculator, please send Mike@CompositesConsultants.com an email, include the type of base resin and any additives and the formula. In the formula, express the amount of the additives in PPHR (Parts Per Hundred Resin) by weight. Include all of the above information for the base resin and any additives, if they are not already in the Resin and Additives data bases so they can be added. Include any additional information, such as, the application, special features, and any adjustments that might be required to the formula.
